Inter x Caxias ends up in a fight

Inter x Caxias ends up in a fight after Colorado loses its spot in the final. The decisive match between Inter and Caxias, for the semifinal of the Campeonato Gaúcho, ended in widespread confusion.

What happened Caxias advanced to the final by beating Inter on penalties, 5-4, in Beira-Rio, after a 1-1 draw in regular time. The first leg had ended in a tie by the same score.

Colorado players revolted with the celebration of Wesley Pombo, who converted the decisive charge and took his hands behind his ears to celebrate the classification. The athlete from Caxias was chased and a fight began on the field. Players from both teams threw punches and kicks, while Beira-Rio officials and some team members tried to separate. A fan even invaded the field with a child on his lap and attacked athletes from Caxias. He was holding a little girl, who was crying. After the initial separation, Rodrigo Moledo tripped Guedes from behind, who was facing the crowd.

Statements after the fight Pedro Henrique, Inter player. "I'm just sorry for this confusion, this is not a good example. My policy was never to get into these things."

Alessandro Barcellos, president of Inter. "At no time do I approve of this violence. Inter has already demonstrated this at other times, with a rigid stance, and it will be no different now. Both in terms of identification and referral to the authorities so that this has consequences and serves as an example for may it never be repeated."

Internacional expresses its repudiation for the episodes that occurred after the end of this Sunday's match (03/26).

Colorado reinforces that it does not agree with the attitude taken by a minority of the fans present in the confrontation, valid for Gauchão."
